The country has seen influence for thousands of years from many great empires including the Roman\, Moorish\, British\, and French to name a few. This heritage is evident in its architecture\, museums\, and archaeological sites like the ancient capital of Mdina and the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Megalithic Temples. From the Romanesque Cathedral to the Social Housing projects developed through the late 20th century\, much could be said surrounding architecture. Porto is home to the Porto School of Architecture\, one of the most prestigious architecture schools in Europe and the world. It is also home to two earners of the Pritzker Architecture Prize (two former students of the aforementioned school): Álvaro Siza Vieira and Eduardo Souto de Moura. \n \n  \nRaces \n \nThe Platu 25 (formerly Beneteau 25) is a sailing boat designed by Farr Yacht Design led by Bruce Farr with the first boat being built by McDell Marine in New Zealand in the early 90’s. DESCRIPTION:The event \nHosted by London Business School and the Yacht Club of Greece\, the LBS MBA Regatta (Global MBA Trophy) is a high profile\, international sailing event that brings together top business men and women from across the world – alumni and students of the world’s best business schools. \nRacing will take place in the waters of Faliron bay\, with a starting point at Mikrolimano\, providing the opportunity to the participants to enjoy the beautiful weather of Athens as well as visiting the historical places of Athens. \nThe Global MBA Trophy is: \n\nAn opportunity to effectively exercise critical skills of high achieving MBAs: Excellence\, leadership\, teamwork\, endurance\, effective communication\, crisis management\, planning and decision making\nA promise for fun\, entertainment\, learning and relaxation\nA stimulating and exciting experience\nAn offer of only the best in Club facilities\, sailing grounds\, race preparation & execution\, activities & learning\nA two-day racing and networking event with on- and off-shore activities\n\n \nThe Races \nDivision A racing one design Platu 25 racing boats.\nMaximum 6 people on board. The boats will be moored at Mikrolimano.\nThe participation fee includes three rooms (2 people per room) at hotel in walking distance from Mikrolimano for 3 nights\, April 19\,20\,21. \nDivision B racing boats tbc (approx 40 ft).\nMaximum 8 people on board.\nThe Boats will be picked up from another marina and be moored at Microlimano. \nMore details: \n\nFlexible race course depending on weather conditions. 3 races maximum per day / upwind & downwind format\nNotice of Race to be made available to participants by April 19th via the event’s website\nRacing Committee\nProvision for Cerifiied Jury Committee\nProvision for Redress Committee\nProvision for boats for Course setting\, Committee\, follow up as well as press and VIP boats\nStand-by emergency boat\nSignals and VHF communications throughout the race\n\nProgram \nTuesday April 23rd\nDivision A practice day for individual crews\, by arrangement with the regatta organisers \nWednesday April 24th\nDivision A practice day for individual crews\, by arrangement with the regatta organisers \nThursday April 25th\n10:00 – A Division Boat registration and pick up opens at Mikrolimano. Check point is the Secretariat of the Yacht Club of Greece (NOE) at the far end of Mikrolimano coast. A refundable deposit of EUR 500 will need to be paid.
